Oaklawn posts positive numbers for the 2024-2025 season

Oak LawnThe 2024-2025 live racing season produced strong numbers across the board, highlighted by competitive racing and record-setting performances.

Oaklawn held 621 races in the season, finishing Saturday and distributing $56,007,000 in his wallet, averaged $903,338 each day. With an average of 10 races per day, Oaklawn provided a strong and competitive race by averaging 9.32 starters per race.

The average daily handle reached $6,737,332, with a total meeting handle of $417,714,571.

The participation was strong, with 2,030 individual horses earning at least one start, contributing to a total of 5,788 starts. Eighty jockeys and 186 trainers have competed in Oak Lawn this season.

“Oh Clone is another unforgettable season,” said Oh Clone president Louis Chera. “The level of talent on the track, the support from our fans and jockeys, and the memories created over these 62 days reaffirm the Oak Lawn location as a premier race destination. The racing community here continues to thrive and we are incredibly proud.”

“What we’ve accomplished this season is incredible,” said Wayne Smith, the track’s general manager. “Even after losing four weather events on Saturday, last year has only been shy 10 races. Such resilience shows the passion of the jockeys, the dedication of the team, and the unwavering support of the fans. It was truly special.”

Season Leader

Steve Asmussen and End Zone Athletics (Karl Broberg) each won the main owner title with 14 wins. DJ Stable, St. EliasStable, West Point Sourbleds and CJ Stables led all owners at $1,168,000 in wallet revenue.

Hall of Fame trainer Asmussen secured a record 14th Oak Lawn training title, winning 46 races and $5,497,570.

Francisco Arrieta won his second Oak Lawn Riding title by winning 65 races and $5,081,352.

The record 13 trainers have won more than $1 million in wallets this season compared to 11 last season, totaling $28,598,935. A total of 16 jockeys surpassed the $1 million revenue mark, pairing them with a $45,086,467 wallet.
