Report: 33-goal attackers involved in speaking with Man United, pay package disclosed

According to Santi Ouna, Manchester United reportedly took important steps to secure Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Naples.

Ouna revealed that a “first meeting” was held between the player’s aides and the Red Devils, indicating serious intentions from the Premier League Giants.

Despite the flash of promise, neither Rasmus Hojlund nor Joshua Zirkzee have been able to establish themselves as prolific goal-scorers in the Premier League, and the pair have combined six league goals so far.

This lack of firepower forced the club’s recruiting teams to explore new options to lead the line next season.

Osimhen is in the shape of Red Hot this season

Meanwhile, Osimhen scored 33 goals and provided eight assists in Galatasaray’s 37 appearances this season.

Known for his explosive pace, aviation threats and clinical finishes, he represents a major upgrade to United’s frontline.

However, while securing his services is not cheap, he reportedly demands a salary of around £10.2 million a year. This is around £196,000 per week.

United remain keen on Osimhen, but they are also keeping an eye on alternative options.

Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP is considered to be the top name on the striker’s potential list.

While Swedish international enjoys sensational campaigns in Portugal and has attracted widespread attention, the Lisbon Club has not been under pressure on sales and Gyoker has a release clause set at 100 million euros, negotiating with the sport could be difficult.

As far as Osimhen’s value is concerned, Napoli is willing to sanction his exit for around £55 million, a much lower amount than Gyoker’s costs.

If Man United is serious about returning to the pinnacle of English and European football, securing a striker of Osimen’s pedigree is easy.

To give way to Osimhen, Red Devils is considering selling Hojlund this summer, which is interested in attackers.
