Kentucky Derby Week officially ended, bringing one of the most action-packed weekends in Thoroughbred Race. During a two-day thrilling day at Churchill Downs, fans witnessed 15 staged stakes races featuring elite fields and high stakes competitions. To get a phenomenal $16.2 million wallet money, these races were not only led by the Rose run.

Sovereignty, a dense Godolphin at Mischief Colt, won 151st The Kentucky Derby run, announced by Woodford Reserve on May 3, is 1½ long, earning the career-high 103 Equiver Speed figure of Hall of Fame Trainer Bill Mott, featuring Junior Alvarado. Following his share of the $5 million Kentucky Derby wallet, sovereignty has risen 18 spots, with $3,529,520 in revenue in 2025, making him the new leader in the overall ranking of thoroughbred races in North America.
151st Run for the Roses was Jockey Junior’s Alvarado’s first career derby victory and launched him in the History Book as a jockey who won the Kentucky Derby. Albardo finished the week with three wins, all in Mott, with three wins and three wins with revenue of $3,472,053.
With the victory of the Sovereign Derby, Godolphin completed the Oaks Derby double. Godolphin is the fifth owner in history to win both the Oaks and the Derby in the same year. After a lucrative weekend, Godolphin has earned $8,425,194 in North American revenue in 2025. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum’s global operations have been awarded the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Owner for the past five consecutive years. In terms of cheers, Medalia Doro’s undefeated daughter has moved 17 spots to fourth in the overall leaderboard among racehorses with $1,275,600 in revenue in 2025.
Flavieen Prat, the 2024 Eclipse Award recipient, became the new leader in North American jockey rankings after the weekend, becoming the jockey with a revenue of over $11 million in 2025. Pratt made seven trips to the winner’s circle last week, winning with a 17% clip, and earnings at $2,743,249, riding 49%. His two victories were a gradual stake at Churchill, stolen Fasig Tipton La Troyenne stakes in the Raging Sea and the American turf stakes presented by Ford at Zulu Kingdom for trainer Chad Brown. In addition to last week’s rated stakes victory, Platt rode Baeza to finish third in the Kentucky Derby. He scheduled the mount for the rest of the week at Big A’s Belmont, including three staged stakes mounts on Saturday.
Bradcox expanded his lead in trainer rankings, becoming the first in 2025 revenue to surpass $11 million. Last week, Cox won with a 12 wins and a 39% extraordinary clip with revenue of $2,310,175. He first maintained over $1.1 million via Steve Asmussen. Cox was dominated by last week’s victory. But Bill Mottt made the cake the top winner last week. Mottt won four wins last week with the horse running 58% of the time, earning $3,508,728. Following his second career Kentucky Derby victory, Mott came fifth on the leaderboard with $6,087,895 in 2025 revenue.
Despite not having a Kentucky Derby starter for the first time in 21 years, Hall of Fame trainer Todd Plecher became the first trainer in history to surpass his $500 million career revenue over the weekend. A ferocious victory at Churchill in the Alysheba stakes, presented by the perceptive Jet and Mindframe in the Churchill Downs stakes presented by Ford Put Pletcher at the milestone. Throughout the race on May 6th, Pletcher runners started at 26,055 with revenue of $503,433,854.
