Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has been linked to travelling from the club, with Arsenal being mentioned as his potential destination.
The 29-year-old is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and he stands out at the West Midlands Club. He has been linked to Arsenal and former Premier League scout Mick Brown believes players are open to joining them.
The players are also linked to Liverpool.
Arsenal’s moves could seduce players
Brown reveals to Football Insider that Watkins is an Arsenal fan as a young man, and he will be interested in joining them. However, Arsenal must agree to a deal with Aston Villa.
“Watkins will be interested in moving to Arsenal,” he told Football Insider.
“He is an Arsenal fan as a young man and I feel he can be the main focus of them.
“If they want to take Rashford forever, I hope he will be allowed to leave.
“But it has to do with whether Arsenal is willing to meet up, whatever his asking price is, as it has to be the right offer for the Villa.”
It is fair to assume that England International is an important player to them and that players cannot leave easily. Arsenal may have to pay a premium to complete the transaction.
Arsenal needs Ollie Watkins
They need quality strikers, and Watkins is the ideal acquisition. He has experience and quality that makes a big difference in the last third. He was able to change Arsenal with his offense. The player has 16 goals this season and earned 13 assists. He could be a major upgrade to Arsenal’s current options.
Arsenal has not been able to win a major trophy despite approaching the title in the past few seasons. Quality strikers can make a huge difference for them. It would be interesting to see if they are willing to pay.
