The title’s favorite, Oklahoma City Thunder, is aiming to bounce in Game 2 after losing to the Denver Nuggets in the opener of the second round series.
Thunder vs Nuggets Game 2 Preview
Nuggets surprised Death Thunder to steal Game 1 as Aaron Gordon nailed the three that won the game in 2.8 seconds, and elicited an omnipotent upset to begin the proceedings for the second round.
The Denver group knows exactly what it takes to win the title after its success in 2023, but when they slip through the LA Clippers in seven games to open the postseason, they have to say they haven’t seen the same oily unit.
That being said, the Nuggets roster boasts Nikola Jokic’s best player on planet Earth, along with outstanding help with Gordon, Jamal Murray and former league MVP Russell Westbrook.
Jokic posted an incredible 42 points, 22 rebounds and six assists in the night to attack MVP-In-Waiting-OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
Oklahoma City won 68 regular season games, finishing the lead in the Western Conference and building 16-game cushions on two seeds, but faces more adversity than they’ve experienced all year long since giving up on home court advantage.
The Nuggets won twice lightning twice during the season, allowing them to claim it was the toughest match in the meeting, the title favorite.
The hosts took a 14-point lead in one stage, but Jokic wasn’t easy, scoring 18 in the fourth quarter, with the Nuggets continuing to chip in the deficit, closing the game with a 15-4 run.
Oklahoma City is highly fond of bounce in Game 2, but no wins have been given and Denver is extremely dangerous. Especially considering that he hasn’t gotten a production all night from Michael Porter JR.
