Charles Berkley did not suppress it as heavily criticized Anthony Edwards’ performance in Game 1.
The Minnesota Timberwolves gained a home court advantage in their second round series against the Golden State Warriors.
However, the organization was unable to make the most of it in Game 1 of the series as they were charged a 99-88 loss in a low-score game.
The biggest point from the 11-point loss was because Anthony Edwards’ first half performance scored only one point.
Despite the bad first half show, Edwards finished the game with 23 points, 14 rebounds and two assists in 42 minutes of playing time.
However, Ant still ended on the losing side, leading to his 2023 comment that he wanted the playoffs to go viral and face GSW.
“I want to play a warrior. I want to go to warriors. Wherever they are, I want to go to them. Because Draymond (Green) talks so much garbage, that’s pretty much the only reason,” Edwards said.
Edwards is known for his trash stories, but if he fails to back it up, it will do more harm than good for his reputation.
After all, Draymond Green never forgot to call on Dillon Brooks, who downplayed the dub in the opening round series of the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
Former NBA star analyst Charles Barkley made sure to call out Ant-Man after an overwhelming Game 1 performance with the Warriors.
Chuck also loved that Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch wasn’t embarrassed to call out star players in a post-game interview.
“I was really impressed with Coach (Chris) Finch at his press conference. He called out Anthony. First of all, you brought all this smoke in. You said you wanted smoke. “I want a warrior,” Berkley said.
“You got them and had one point at halftime. His energy levels were falling. So for me, what coaching is. Shaq is in this situation.
“When you’re a guy, you get all the credits, but you get all the responsibility. That’s how it works. You can’t come out and talk about it all.
The key reason behind Edwards’ poor shooting was his overreliance on a three-point shot. He improved that aspect of his game, but the long-range dagger abandoned him in the last two games.
After all, he made a 0-0 show in Game 5 vs. Lakers, continuing his fight in Game 1 with the Warriors on a single 3-point shooting display.
