“Picking up there”…LeBron James says the goat argument is “over”, Michael Jordan’s former Tiemmate warns it’s too late

The Los Angeles Lakers season was disappointing as they were eliminated 1-4 in the first round of the playoffs, despite expectations.

Even if superstar teammate Luka Donsic was with him, LeBron James was once again at the NBA Finals, dominating the debate about his position in basketball history.

Stacey King, a former Chicago Bulls player and Michael Jordan teammate, did not tick words when addressing LeBron’s place in goat conversation.

“LeBron James will be one of the best players he’s ever played, but let’s stop the goat debate,” King declared on the podcast, pointing out the fact that after 22 seasons LeBron is still not in line with Jordan’s sixth championship.

King also highlighted the statistical realm where LeBron tracks other legends, pointing out that he remains behind Kareem Abdul Jabber at points per game and Wilt Chamberlain in rebounds.

“What will you do in 20 years, MJ did it at age 13. Stop right away. You’re not a goat, you’re not going to bypass Kobe. You’re not going to bypass Kareem and Wilt Chamberlain. The goat conversation is over.”

The Lakers’ early exit has marked the third first round elimination in the last four seasons, suggesting that LeBron’s window to add to his four championships could quickly close as he approaches his 41st birthday later this year.

While dismissing LeBron’s claims for the best title of all time, King acknowledges his legendary status, saying, “He’s a great player, and he’ll be on Mount Rushmore, the best NBA player, and there’s nothing wrong with it.”

As LeBron’s incredible career continues in the Twilight era, this latest playoff disappointment could further strengthen Jordan’s position in the eyes of many fans and analysts as the greatest player in basketball’s history.
