India’s Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) has been officially suspended for a week due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. IPL Chair Arun Dhumal confirmed that continuing the tournament was incorrect under current circumstances.
Dhumal said BCCI and IPL officials are closely monitoring the situation and will decide the rest of the future for the 2025 season after reassessing conditions in the coming days as the war between India and Pakistan is intensifying daily.

The IPL chairman also dropped bombs, suggesting that a full tournament suspension is also being considered. This is being considered depending on how things are unfolding in the coming days as Pakistan has already been trying to attack India with 300-400 drones in 36 locations.

The IPL chair added: “We were considering (full suspension) and we were discussing with all stakeholders, so it was thought it would be appropriate to suspend a week, assess the situation and make a final call.”

Furthermore, Dhumal has reiterated that the future of Indian Premier League 2025 will be reviewed later, as the current focus is on uniting with the military and government. He carefully assessed the situation and noted that a final decision would be made after consulting with all key stakeholders.
He said, “Looking like we do now, as you know, the whole country is focusing on winning this war, we want to show solidarity with the military and the government, so we’re focusing on what we do now.”

DC, PBK, MI and RCB adjust plans within IPL 2025 suspension
IPL 2025 has been suspended for a week due to rising tensions in India and Pakistan, so the franchise is currently arranging travel logistics. Indian players have already returned home, while overseas players have jumped out with the support of the BCCI and team management.
