Xabi Alonso confirms Real Madrid’s movement and confirms that it will drop important transfer claims

Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso confirmed he was approaching his final few games with the club as he was preparing to leave.

It was a secret for a while, as Alonso headed for Real Madrid to replace Carlo Ancelotti.

Alonso did an incredible job at Leverkusen last season, leading the club to their first Bundesliga title victory and even reached the Europa League final.

The Spanish tactician, who played for Real Madrid during his time as one of Europe’s best midfielders, looks ideal to take over Ancelotti after a slightly disappointing season with the Bernabeu.

Just as Fabrizio Romano posted an Alonso confirmation to X, see below:

Replacing legendary figures like Ancelotti is not easy, but Alonso appears to have what it takes to be one of the modern business owners.

The work Alonso has done on the Leverkusen side is nothing but sensational. And it will be interesting to see what he can do with even better resources.

Alonso also had some other interesting news after breaking his silence about his future…

Xabi Alonso regarding Florian Wirtz’s transfer status

According to the Romano post below, Alonso made a rather interesting assertion that Florian Wurtz’s Leverkusen star player is not necessarily thinking about the move towards Bayern Munich…

Wirtz links with Bayern and Real Madrid, but Alonso’s comments here may suggest that he is optimistic that he may be able to bring German playmakers to the Spanish capital.

It’s certainly an exciting signature for Real to go with Alonso, and Wirtz is undoubtedly one of the best young talents in the game.

The 22-year-old shines under Alonso in Leverkusen, so it makes sense to re-link in the future.
