On Thursday night, the Warriors had no PG Steph Curry in Game 2. Curry suffered from hamstring tension against Timberwolves in Game 1. Muscle tension at the first of his professional career.
Without curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green had to try and keep the Warriors competing. It wasn’t easy in Game 2. Golden State lost 117-93 to Minnesota. In the second quarter of Thursday night, Draymond Greene elbowed Nazleid over his head and received his fifth technical foul of the 2025 postseason. After Game 2, Green told the media he was tired of their “agenta” to make him look like an “angry black man.”

In the 13th professional season, Draymond Green is still an important piece to make the Golden State Warriors a success. His level of effort has never been questioned, but Green is known to take his physicality too far. During his NBA career, Green was suspended six times. His final suspension was Jusuf Nurkic of “Strike” Suns in 2023. He provided 12 games of suspension for that hit. Against the Timberwolve in Game 2, Green was rated as a technical foul to elbow Naz Reed in the face.
It was his fifth technical foul in the 2025 playoffs. Green played in nine games. He’s two technical fouls from receiving one game of suspension. It’s not what the Warriors need when Steph Curry is recovering from hamstring tension. After Golden State loss on Thursday, Green was visibly upset by the media.
The 33-year-old said he was tired of their “agenta” to make him look like an “angry black man.” After that comment, Greene ran out of the locker room. Head coach Steve Kerr talked about the thin lines that Green walks as a player every night. He said the same competitiveness that makes Green great can also put him in the upper hand. Carr said it’s the coaching staff’s job to keep Greene up to the composition and not do anything he regrets. After Game 2, Green gets frustrated, but the Warriors need to keep him locked up while the curry is still out.
