UFC legend Georges Saint Pierre said he was open to the idea of placing a belt on the winner’s waist at tonight’s UFC 315 main event.
As we know, Georges St-Pierre is an icon of the world of Mixed Martial Arts. He is also the best welterweight competing in the UFC. But today the champion is Beral Muhammad, who will defend the crown tonight against Jacques Della Madarena in the main event of UFC 315.
During the Q&A session, Georges St-Pierre was asked if he would consider placing a belt at the waist of those who would win the main event.

“Of course, if they want me to do that, I’ll do it,” Saint-Pierre said. “But on Saturday I will be working as a cornerman. My priority is to be there for Ayman Zajabi. He does an incredible job before fighting Jose Aldo.
“If everything goes according to the plan, if we get a W and they want me to do it, why would it be an honor?”

St. Pierre is a Montreal hero and, in addition to his duties as a cornerman, will likely be highly featured. But even if he hasn’t got a nod for his main event mission, I hope he will be recognized by the UFC team for everything he has done for the sport over the past few years.
