Hopefully, we didn’t plan to foot stamp most of our game plan in UFC 315.
The UFC’s latest pay-per-view offering went down in Montreal this Saturday, finding two world titles Tilts. First, the governing flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko will put her gold on the line against Manon Fiorot, the second-place contender in the division, in the co-main event.
Then, the evening feature fight will see Beral Muhammad defend his welterweight title against Streaking Australia’s Sensory Jack Della Madalena.
The event is approved by the Quebec Athletics Board and takes advantage of the unified rules of the MMA with one small exception.
MMA journalist Aaron Bronstator wrote, “It is said that the Quebec Athletics Committee will utilize the unified rules of the UFC 315 MMA, with one notable exception.” “Footstomps are not permitted.
Lack of stomping doesn’t stop Beral Muhammad from putting JDM to sleep in the Great White North
That’s a strange omission, especially considering that rare and ineffective foot stomping generally depends on the fight, but it’s unlikely to affect Muhammad’s scripted finish against JDM.
“In the second round, he’s going to come out and shoot me a takedown,” Muhammad told Submission Radio. “I’m going to spread out and then I’m going to look at him and laugh. Then I’m going to look at DC (Daniel Cormier) and do Max Holloway, who says, ‘I’m the best boxer in the UFC.’
“Then I’m going to hit him with a few more. And he’s going to shoot him in the other leg, because he never knows what to do again. I’ll drop it.”
