Leroy Sane of Bayern Munich, who has yet to sign a new contract to extend his stay at Bundesliga, has also emerged as an option for Mikel Arteta’s side, with German agents eager to see their clients moving to Emirates Stadium.

The gunners aimed at a midfielder, likened to former Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
However, according to a report by Daily Mail, another winger is Arsenal’s number one target in the summer transfer window, namely athletic club Nico Williams, and the Spaniard is considered the ideal option to compete for Martinelli’s starting spot.
Leandro Trossard is currently investigating his move to Saudi Arabia. This could exacerbate the need for gunners to bring in new wingers, and Williams is the best goal to offer competition to Martinelli, who hasn’t been consistent this season.
But Chelsea is also interested in the left field, which can complicate the deal. Jamie Gittens of Leao and Borussia Dortmund have been identified as potential alternative targets on Arteta’s side if they missed the Athletic Club star.
“Incredible” Williams could be “ideal” for Arteta
During his previous link with Spanish International, Arsenal-backed scout Ben Matinson argued that the forward could be “ideal” for Arteta given his ability to play for the Frank and drive on the opposing defense.
The left also caught the eye during Spain’s Euro 2024 victory.
Impressed by his national side last summer, the 22-year-old is currently enjoying an impressive campaign in Laliga, offering seven goal contributions in the Europa League with five goals and five assists in his name.
It’s clear that Arteta will need to compete for Martinelli this summer, and Williams’ performance this season will be more than justifying his £48 million spending.
