In Italy, it refers to Jorge Martin’s favorite new MotoGP team

Reports in Italy show Jorge Martin’s preferred destinations if he is able to design movements away from Aprilia.

On Monday morning, a bomb report from the Spanish version of Motorsport.com said Jorge Martin was leaving Aprilia at the end of this season and was about to enact a performance clause in his current contract.

Martin’s current contract with Aprilia is reported to provide that if he was one of the French Grand Prix title candidates, the second year of his contract will be in effect.

It was not a success as Martin had informed Prairia of his desires – but the performance deadline could be extended to the San Marino Grand Prix in September.

Aprilia is planning to fight this legally. This is because Martin has played in one Grand Prix this season due to many injuries so far.

A crash at the Qatar Grand Prix left him with 11 fractured ribs, facing a potential layoff period until the German Grand Prix in July.

Martins sits last in the rankings, 171 points away from the championship lead.

According to Sky Sports Italy, Martin is about to exercise this performance clause to move to Honda next year.

Honda is currently the only manufacturer with vacant seats in the working force in 2026, with Lucamarini deals expired at the end of the year.

It is believed that Martin was not convinced by Aprilia’s previous possibilities from bystanders this year.

Aprilia is currently the last in the rankings and is the only manufacturer that has not yet won the podium in 2025.

The main rider in the ranking is 10th place trackhouse rookie Iogra, and the Japanese star achieved his fifth best Grand Prix result in the season-opening round in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Honda showed rapid improvements in 2025, winning its first top five in more than two years in Qatar before Johann Zarco won the rainy French Grand Prix last weekend.

At Honda, Martin was reunited with a familiar face from his test rider Alix Espargaro.

However, Honda has also linked to other well-known riders, including Pedro Acosta. That manager, Albert Varera, also cared for Martin.

Martin signed a two-year Aprilia contract a year ago when Ducati made a U-turn on his decision to promote to the factory team.

Aprilia failed early last year by signing 2021 world champion Fabio Cartalaro, but Yamaha couldn’t match the financial offerings placed before the French.

However, it is believed that money offers increased significantly when Martin became available.

Aprilia declined to comment on the issue.

Honda is also likely to continue to be public from the conversation while Martin continues to sign with Aprilia, and the Japanese brand will not try to offer anything until it becomes a free agent.
