Journalism will race at Preakness 2025 on Saturday

They couldn’t wait until Monday.

Eclipse Sorlarbred Partners joined social media on Sunday and said yes, Kentucky Derby runner-up Journalism I’ll be racing on Saturday Preakness 2025.

“Since the Kentucky Derby, journalism has been epic (trainer Michael McCarthy) is environmentally friendly as heading to Pimlico for his 150th Preakness Stakes,” Eclipse said in a post on X.

Aron Wellman, who runs Eclipse, dropped the strongest hint in advance that RSVP to the Maryland Jockey Club would be yes on Sunday morning.

“I’m going to look over him with a fine tooth comb this afternoon,” Wellman told the Thoroughbred Los Angeles radio show. “Hopefully once the process is complete, we will be in a position to make the announcement. But at this point he will not give Pimlico any reason to aim for next Saturday.

Eclipse owns journalism at Bridlewood Farm, Don Alberto Stable, Robert Lapenta, Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith’s Coolmore Group.

Journalism brings you resumes that include victory in the Los Aramitos Futurity (G2), San Felipe (G2), and Santa Anita Derby (G1). He is just the third-year winner who has committed to Preakness this year. The seventh Kentucky Derby finishing Sandman to win the Arkansas Derby (G1), and the first Gosgar in Lexington (G3) are the others. Since the 1974 rated stakes were born, there have been fewer than three such winners.

“I took a peek at the possibility,” McCarthy said. “It’s a competitive place. It looks like there’s a bit of a pace there. You’ll expect it. It’s a triple crown race. I expect it to be competitive.”

America’s promise, clever, once again, goal orientation, heart center, Pay Billy and River Thames are also expected to be tied at about 6:45pm on Monday.

McCarthy said journalism will be vannn from Kentucky to Maryland on Tuesday. Preakness horses must be in Pimlico by Wednesday.
