International Fight Week has always been one of the biggest events of the year, but the promotion has yet to announce headliners. The reason for this was that lighter champion Islam Makhachev wanted to see how the main event unfolded, as if Jack Della Madarena defeated Beral Muhammad.

Well, after that happened, Dana White announced that Ilia Topria would take on Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title that is open in the main event of UFC 317.

Ilia Topuria (16-0) moves lighter with his featherweight title free and quickly wins a title shot. Topuria has KO’s victory over Max Holloway to defend his featherweight title. Topuria knocked out Alexander Volkanovski to win the belt. The 28-year-old was 8-0 in the UFC, with a notable victory over Josh Emmett and Bryce Mitchell, knocking out Jay Herbert in his only lightweight match at the UFC.

Charles Oliveira (35-10) won the final victory for Michael Chandler in November. After the loss of the split decision to Arman Tsarukyan, he returned to the Win column. Oliveira is a former UFC lightweight champion.

Dana White announced that flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja will take on Kaikara France in the UFC 317 co-main event.

Pantoja (29-5) has won a submission victory over Asakusa in order to defend his third title. The Brazilians are 13-3 in the UFC and are on a seven-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Kara-France was 25-11 and won Steve Erceg to win the title shot.
