Liverpool will contact the “World Class” star

Over the past few days, Liverpool appears to have made significant progress during the transfer period, looking to land an alternative to resigning Trent Alexander Arnold.

The British have left the club to a free transfer at the end of the campaign, and Jeremy Fripon appears as Arne Slot’s number one target in place of him.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Reds are talking to a Dutch international landing that currently has a release clause of £29.5 million in their deal with Bayer Leberkusen.

He has also been reportedly keen to switch to Anfield in the coming months, with the hierarchy working tirelessly to provide managers with the tools they need to build on their Premier League victory.

But he is based on another signature that can prove to be an exciting addition than the right back, rather than the only player on their radar.

Latest news on new and additional hunts in Liverpool

The summer transfer window is still not open, but Liverpool has already wasteful time moving multiple players across multiple areas of the pitch.

Murillo, Rodrygo, Tomas Araujo and others have all appeared on the list in recent weeks as they are trying to provide additional depth to his team ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

However, according to French outlet le Paridien, Lyon’s star Rayan Cherki is not the only radar on the radar.

Their reports say the slot man conducted an investigation to land a 21-year-old who registered 12 goals and 19 assists in all competitions in 2024/25.

He also said it could be available for just £19 million this summer. The League One outfit is ready to leave him during the offseason due to their financial problems.

Why is Cherki a more exciting signature than Frimon?

There cannot be denied that Liverpool’s current team is full of talent in a variety of fields.

The Dutch have only added one first team this season in the form of Federico Chiesa. The Italians feature only 41 leagues in total, highlighting the impressive team they took over when they took over the reins.

However, additional will be required this summer to maintain that level of success. Frimon and Cherki are just two latest names thrown into the mix.

The Leberkusen star would fill a big void given the pending departure of Trent, but the movement of the French youth injects additional life and creativity into the already powerful frontline.

Labeled “World Class” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the attacker enjoys the best years of his professional career as athletic Alex Barker’s “Future Ballon D’Or Winner.”

Combining his 18 goals, his support in League One so far is the fifth-highest player of players who don’t play in PSG, and shows just how impressive he is for Lyon.

His underlying statistics are equally impressive, with a successful average of 3.2 chances and 2.1 dribbling per 90, and subsequent tallies allow something like Mohamed Sara to be built in its own impressive season in 2024/25.

He also averages 6.4 touches in the opposition box per game, and 1.9 shots per 90 – he can find the back of the net himself if he needs it.

Cherki’s talent and creativity will be a joy to see him as the 21-year-old, who can explode into his Premier League life in the coming years, has dug up his reported £19 million commission.

Despite interest from elsewhere, the Reds should work tirelessly to complete Cherki’s contract this summer, with the youngsters having the tools to thrive in the slot system and strengthen their chances of holding next year’s title.
