Jalen Brown sent him a lovely message with his thoughts on the injured Jason Tatum after the Celtics destroyed the Knicks and forced the game at Madison Square Garden.
Despite being an NBA champion, not many fans believed the Boston Celtics could win Game 5. The New York Knicks were considered Shoe-in in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Jason Tatum’s horrible injury to Achilles was a major factor. We were hoping that Boston’s season would end on Wednesday as locker rooms struggle to deal with the harsh news.
However, the team proved that all their suspects were wrong. Derrick White agreed with how good he is with 34 points, and Jaylen Brown played the role of an elite all-around in a comfortable victory.
After the match, the Finals MVP had a brief but sweet message to his injured superstar teammate.
The Celtics are anything other than a single team. They have all the tools at their disposal to get back from a 3-1 deficit without a superstar.
They showed this on Wednesday night. Because the bench has grown along with the starter. Luke Cornett’s seven blocks are evidence of his team locked up in a 127-102 victory.
They rave about their performance, but C still thought up his injured teammate after the victory. Brown dealt with it by sending Tatum a short but sweet message.
“It’s for JT. It’s going well,” Jalen said.
Anything you can think about JB will never move away from that moment. In Game 5 he was on the whole court for Boston and helped them get the much needed victory.
Brown scored 26 points in the night and shot an efficient 52.9% off the field. He made three of five three-pointers and hit a big shot when it was important.
The important statistic for the night was 12 assists. The 28-year-old was easily distributing rocks to keep Boston’s attacks stagnant and not creating open looks.
Jalen had almost triple doubles, but he shortened two rebounds. Anyway, he stuffed the stats sheet and couldn’t stop him as Boston forced Game 6.
