Liverpool is already locked up in the first signing of the summer transfer period, which is pleased to one of the former players.

Jeremy Fripon is set to arrive at Anfield on behalf of Trent Alexander Arnold, tied up by Real Madrid, with negotiations going on between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen. And while the deal has been questioned by some, the one who welcomed it was former Reds striker Stan Colliemore.

In an exclusive column on catch-offside, Collymore agreed with Liverpool’s decision to sign a new right-back and expressed his joy in being the desired target, Frimpong.

” Given Connor Bradley has a lot of injuries issues, I think Liverpool will need to have Trent left this summer and sign a new right back this summer. And while he’s got a good start to his Premier League career, it’s still unclear if he’ll be a great player.

“Jeremy Frimon would be a great signing. If it gets out, I’d like the deal and if it goes on, I’ll scream at Celtic who gets a great sell-on.

“I think he’s good at Liverpool. He’s quick, moving forward, defensively good. He also fits the club’s profile.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be able to trade Flimon in the coming weeks. If he’s going to move, there will be a lot of hopes for the Netherlands International, but he’s sure he can handle the pressure.
