AC Milan attacker Rafael Leo has linked his move away from the club at the end of the season, with Arsenal watching him, according to Mick Brown.
The gunners were trying to improve their attacking units and were able to make a move for the Portuguese left wing. The 25-year-old has done very well in his Italian outfit, and he has 12 goals for his name this season. The players earned 13 assists along the way.
He was able to add a new dimension to his Arsenal offense. Gunners looked toothless in offense this season. And they need to improve in the future. Signing a dynamic attacker like Leao can prove to be a wise decision. He can operate anywhere across the front 3, and his versatility is a bonus.
Leao also rides the radar of London’s rival Chelsea.
Arsenal needs a deep attack
Arsenal is overly dependent on Bukayosaka. Gabriel Martinelli has been overwhelmed this season, and Brown believes that more competition for location will help Arsenal improve as a team.
“Raphael Leo is one of the players Arsenal is watching,” he told Soccer Insider..
“They have been watching him since the start of the season, and they could have gone beyond that because they are in a position they know they have problems.
“These decisions are made in the background over a period of time, but not reactionary.
“So they work behind the scenes and they scout him and think about what it takes to sign him.
“He is very direct, quick and skilled, and exactly the type of winger they are looking for.
“He likes going to his guy, developing his team and making the difference in the future.
“I think Arsenal has lacked this type of player this season, because Saka makes a difference because there are no decisive players in the final third.”
Rafael Leo could improve Arsenal
Portugal International certainly has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League, and he could become an Arsenal star.
He is entering the peak period of his career and he will want to compete at a high level. Arsenal was able to offer him the opportunity to compete for the league title and the Champions League trophy.
