Naj Marshall revealed how Luka Donsic felt when he was traded by the Dallas Mavericks.
Naji Marshall signed with the Dallas Mavericks after a stint with the New Orleans Pelicans and moved to free agency last year.
He was known for his defensive resilience and ability to defend multiple positions, but Marshall bolstered his offensive game for the Mavericks in a multiple-injured year.
With Luka Donsic on the roster, the Mavs were in a offensive talent unlike the rest of the league.
Three months after Luka’s trade, Nico Harrison continues to face sticks to trade the franchise’s star, and Marshall reveals he is upset for him and even for him, who has spent very limited time.
Doncic’s trade with La Lakers was a surprise to the whole world. Pelinka revealed he was shocked when Mavs offered Luka, but the same feeling was felt in the NBA community when the news broke.
Marshall, who just joined the franchise, said he was not happy after the deal because his relationship with Don Sic was huge.
The forward said: “I understand that it’s only business to the NBA, but I’ve been hurt.
“He welcomed us with open arms and we welcomed him with open arms, but personally, just like I was just hurt to lose Luke’s man.
“It was a great time spent with him. It was a short time. It just hurts to see him go.”
Doncic’s return game in Dallas was marked on the calendar by everyone in the NBA community as soon as the deal was executed.
He had been in the franchise for eight years, but looked like a star who wanted to spend the rest of his career in Dallas.
The Slovenian was seen crying for him in the Mavs tribute video, but when the game began, he played like a man on the mission.
Doncic finished the game with 45 points. This was the best performance for the Lakers.
Marshall said he knows the five-time All-Stars will play a big game.
“I knew he would be so crazy. Just like in the house in the first game, Luka wanted to be in Dallas.
“I don’t know what he was thinking, but it was crazy. When I saw him crying before the game, I don’t know what he was feeling, but I could imagine how that moment felt for him,” Marshall said.
The 27-year-old also shared what it’s like to be a teammate with Donsic.
“Luka is the coldest man ever. He feels like his best friend from day one. He’s just a great guy, never angry, always happy.
“He’s a flamethrower-like hall of fame when it comes to basketball. He’s just doing crazy things, that’s just such a surprising thing, as if it’s not normal,” Marshall said.
