The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 106 event, with four fighters snatching home performance bonuses.

Tonight’s fight card was headlined by the highly anticipated welterweight contest in which Gilbert Burns won Michael Morales. This match proved to be a party that comes out for people now and still undefeated “Michael Morales.” The Ecuadorian powerhouse was able to make Gilbert Burns better with a strike from the opening horn, and eventually landing a powerful shot that “Durinho” was forced to jump into the takedown. Burns succeeded in that attempt, but it took Morales only seconds for him to return to his own leg, where he smashed the former title challenger with a ton of big shots. After a pair of knockdowns, Judge Herb Dean looked well and intervened to call the contest halt.
The UFC Vegas 106 was to be co-headlined in a light heavyweight match in which Paul Craig acquired Rodolfo Berato. Unfortunately for fans of the fight, the contest was discarded at the last minute due to illness on the part of Berato.
Following the end of tonight’s event, UFC officials announced at a postwar press conference that the four fighters would be filming performance bonuses.
