With a 125-93 loss to Thunder in Game 7, the Nuggets’ season officially ended. After winning the NBA Finals in 2023, Denver missed the conference finals in back-to-back postseasons.

The 2024-25 season was Christian Brown’s third year with the Nuggets. It was the best season of his career on the 24-year-old board. ESPN’s Bobby Marks reported that Brown’s extension with Denver is worth more than $30 million per season. Brown will take his game to another level in 2024-25 and will be rewarded for it.

Christian Brown is a key player for the Denver Nuggets

In the 2022 NBA Draft, the Nuggets selected SG Christian Brown from Kansas. Over his first two seasons, Brown played 158 games, but made just 10 starts. After the 2023-24 season, Denver did not re-sign Kentavia Caldwell Pope. That opened the Denver start spot, and Christian Bruan became capitalized. Over this past season, Brown played 79 out of 82 regular season games, starting 77.

Previous first round picks were a durable player throughout his first three seasons. He plays more than 76 games each year. This includes all 82 games from 2023-24. As a starter in 2024-25, Christian Brown took his progress a step forward. His 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steel were all new career-highs. Plus, his .397 shooting rate beyond ARC was the new personal best. ESPN’s Bobby Marks pointed out that Brown is one of two players who increase his scoring average by more than eight points.

Marks believes Christian Brown will receive more than $30 million in deals per season. He used Orlando’s Jalen Suggs as an example. The magic signed him a five-year, $150 million extension. Bobby Marks believes Brown’s expansion is higher due to how the cap is projected. In his impressive 2024-25 season, Brown solidified himself as a key piece on the Nuggets’ roster.
