Will trading two veterans the answer to the various paths of the Golden State Warriors?

The Golden State Warriors found the winning formula later in the season after trading with Jimmy Butler.

Butler energised the Warriors, formed a new look team and flourished alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

The Warriors ultimately ran short in the conference semi-finals, with Curry losing four games in a tense hamstring, but Butler appeared to be limited by injuries in the previous round against the Rocket.

Both Butler and Green were 35 and Curry 37, highlighting the dangers of relying on the three players in the final year of their careers.

All indications point to the Golden State Warriors decide to run it next season at Start Rio and are trying to strengthen their surroundings.

Jonathan Cuminga could even be traded to find a better player.

Former NBA star Gilbert Arena is not a fan of this route, but claims that Cuminga should turn his fortune around and be an important part of their future.

Instead of focusing on the next year or so, he believes the Warriors should trade Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler and earn a young star around Steph Curry.

He told the arena in Gill:

“When he leaves, I have someone between 23 and 24 years old, and we are doing well.

“I can leave Jimmy and Draymond,” he added.

He said:

“If we can’t win again this year, we can do it with Houston, defense and Jimmy Butler.

“They’re some of the vets that are far from good things.”
