According to trustworthy reporter Ben Jacobs, Leeds United is currently taking an approach to signing “fantastic” Premier League defenders.
This was the thrilling end of Leeds’ 2024-25 campaign, securing the championship title with 100 points, but facing an even more challenging job of staying in the Premier League, it might be wise to bring a new signature proven on top flights.
Mika Richards suggests that Manchester City’s James McAtee could be a great signing for the whites in the mid-area attacking mid-area, but there was also talk of the double soups of Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff and Callum Wilson.
The Newcastle duo, who played a role in turning Magpies from demoting sides to Champions League candidates and EFL Cup winners, could be an exciting signature on Daniel Fark’s side.

Big Pillow Upgrade: Leeds leads the race and signs “outstanding” PL star
Leeds has led the race and signed the Premier League star, a major upgrade for Joel Pillow.
In an interview with Givemesport, Jacobs said Leeds was interested in signing the West Ham United defender this summer and the approach was made. “Vladimir Kufal could also be a market opportunity. It is said that Leeds and Everton are two clubs that contacted him. So there is a real deal on both of those links, and as I said a moment ago, I fully expect Leeds to explore the goalkeeper market.”
Hammer confirmed that Kufal is scheduled to leave the club this summer at the expiration of his contract.
“Fantastic” Coofal has been proven in the Premier League
Once praised as “fantastic” by former teammate Ben Johnson, the Czech defender has plenty of experience in the Premier League and has competed in 146 competitions during his time at London Stadium.
The 32-year-old has played more sporadic roles this season, and is often used as an alternative, but he has produced several impressive performances in the past, earning seven assists in 36 league outings last season.
However, while there may be concerns about the defender’s age, some members of the media have suggested that the fullback is above his best.
That said, Leeds demands players with Premier League experience to avoid an immediate return to the championship, and Kufal has it in large numbers, so the move makes perfect sense.
