With the 2024/25 season approaching its end, the club has been fighting it for major trophies. The EFL Cup concluded in February, with Newcastle United winning their first gong for 55 years, but the FA Cup secured their first major trophy and went to Crystal Palace.
Both clubs overcome the opposition from the top at Wembley, ignoring the odds on their way to silverware. Liverpool and Manchester City are at the wrong end of a painful defeat under the arch.
Liverpool and Arsenal fought it for the Premier League crown, but it was the Reds who won the 20th top flight title.
And Tottenham Hotspur won the Premier League fighter battle in the Europa League final. This earned the first great honor of nearly 20 years at the expense of Manchester United, who, along with Lily White, finishes in the lowest region of the league table, despite progress in Europe.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are still holding the flag when they take on the real Betis in the conference league.
Here we take a closer look at the top 11 and take a look at the most trophies that the English club has won.
This list does not take into account minor competitions like the Community Shield and The Intertoto Cup, but the “European Cup” does not include the UEFA Super Cup, which are counted along with honors like the InterContinental Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Nottingham Forest
10 Trophy
Nottingham Forest is on track for the best season of decades. At the time of writing, they currently hold the third head height at the Premier League table.
They have not won any major trophies since the League Cup under the leadership of Brian Claff, the most successful manager in the club’s history in 1990.
He led the team to their first and only top flight titles in 1978 before winning back-to-back European Cups in 1978 and 1980. Four League Cups have been added. Forest also won two FA Cups and a European Super Cup, winning a total of 10 major trophies.

Nottingham Forest and 8 other Premier League surprise packages
The Premier League has had many surprise packages over the past 30 years. Here’s the best.
10
Blackburn Rover
10 Trophy
Blackburn Rovers has not been on the top flight since 2012, but is ranked jointly with Forest in terms of the most successful English club.
All but two major trophies came before 1930, winning two league titles and six FA Cups. They ended the 1981 drought with the league title by winning the Premier League in 1995, and the Graeme Soons won the League Cup during the 2001/02 season.
This is the last time the club has lifted its silverware.

Newcastle United
11 Trophy
Before winning the Carabao Cup in 2025, Newcastle United had the longest drought of any British club that won at least one major trophy. In fact, the Vietnam War was still ongoing as Newcastle last time they unlocked the silverware before 2025, as the Beatles were still together and the Magpie won the 1969 Intercity Fair Cup.
Toon won six FA Cup titles as well as four league titles in history. The last of these came in 1927 and 1955, respectively.
Eddie Howe’s accusations now look even more towards success, especially as they return to Europe and aim to place themselves among European elites in the near future.

Everton
15 Trophy
Everton has enjoyed short successes in their history before experiencing a long drought.
Until the 1940s, Toffee won five league titles and two FA Cups before enduring quiet times. The 1963 and 1970 league titles were caught between FA Cup victory in 1966.
Since then, he has only won four more trophies in his Goodison Park outfit. The last one came in 1995. They will have to wait until next year to end this drought.

Tottenham Hotspur
18 Trophy
A lot has been made about the drought at Tottenham Hotspur, dating back to 2008. Because clubs of their size should have sought some great honors ever since.
It took 17 years to experience the glory of the cup as we saw the winner of Jonathan Woodgate defeat Chelsea in the EFL Cup final. The 2025 Europa League Finals and Manchester United handed over Ange Postcoglo and gave him the chance to break what he had taken.
Brennan Johnson’s crude goal at Bilbao has long been waiting for massive silverware. The Spurs lifted their third Europa League trophy and won their latest victory in the 1963 Cup Winners Cup.
Overall, the Spurs have won 18 major trophies throughout history, with the other 14 being national honors, including eight FA Cups. Almost oddly, they have not played in the FA Cup final since 1991, but have played in the following two European finals.
Meanwhile, their league titles are two, with the last one coming in 1961. It’s only time to see whether the Europa League victory turns out to be a catalyst for more success in the future.

The main period of Aston Villa’s success occurred during the late 19th and early 20th century. The club won six league titles and six FA Cups during this period.
Perhaps their best achievement was winning the European Cup in 1982, beating Bayern Munich in the final. This came after they previously secured their seventh top flight title.
A total of 21 major trophies were won on the Midlands side, but they will have to go back to 1996 when they lifted the last thing to note.

28 Trophy
Chelsea’s success in the first 20 years of the 21st century undoubtedly led to Russian billionaire Roma Abramovich. Between 2003 and 2022, the Blues won 20 major trophies, including five Premier League titles and two Champions League Crowns.
It wasn’t until 1955 that the club won their first league title, but they had to wait until 1970 to win the FA Cup. Despite millions of people being spent on players, the last few years have been pretty tough. Will Enzo Maresca lead the club to more trophies? Only time can be seen.

Pep Guardiola has undoubtedly transformed City into the best team of the Premier League era, but the club’s struggle in 2024/25 combined for the second consecutive FA Cup final defeat, most recently Crystal Palace.

Manchester United ranks second on this list and has won 47 incredible trophies in history. Two managers have won most of these honors – Ir Matt Busby and Ir Alex Ferguson.
Indeed, Busby won eight major trophies and culminated in his victory at the 1968 European Cup, a decade after the Munich disaster. The Red Devils experienced a slump until Ferguson managed to get the spell to work. By 2013 he had won 28 trophies through iconic spells.
They have something to do to get to number one…
