Former UFC star Kevin Lee set up a set for the fight, ink trades to compete in PFL

Former interim UFC lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee has returned to mixed martial arts after signing a multi-fight contract with the PFL (Professional Fighters League).

Lee, who recently competed in home soil last September, returned to victory with a choke submission in the first round via Thiago Oliveira under the flag of the Lightout Championship.

And at that point, the Michigan native had signed to compete under the Global Fight League (GFL) flag, after postponing its debut event held in Los Angeles this summer, before being allowed to release a few weeks ago.

However, although not booked to debut in the promotion, Lee now has the opportunity to return to the competition. This time I was on SmartCage and put a pen on paper for my contract to compete in the PFL after this year. News of Kevin Lee’s move to a Don Davis-led organization was first reported by MMA fighting reporter Damon Martin.

“Some #Breaking News for you…UFC veteran Kevin Lee has signed a multi-fight contract to join the PFL roster for each source,” Martin posted on his X account.

Lee, a veteran candidate with the recent Octagon appearance in 2023, suffered a one-sided first-round suspension loss to Linat Fakletdinov, dropping a loss in the guillotine choke submission.

Competing for tentative lightweight booty in 2017, Lee was filed again in the third round via a loss of a triangular choke submission to bitter rival Tony Ferguson.

During his tenure at the Topsitterby Octagon, Lee achieved victory in which he noticed Efren Escadero, Jake Matthews, Magamedo Mastafaev, Francis Cotrinald, Michael Chiesa, Edson Barboza, and Gregor Gillespie.
