Preakness Viewership drops again as there are no winners in the derby

With the Triple Crown out of reach, this year’s Preakness Stakes has dropped to an average of 4.6 million viewers on television.

Apart from the 2020 pandemic year, it’s the lowest number since Preakness in 1995 attracted 4.4 million viewers on ABC. Sports Business Journal.

According to estimates from NIELSEN and Adobe Analytics, NBC audiences averaged 5.9 million during the half hour, starting with EDT at 7pm, when Preakness won.
