Former indisputable lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is extremely confident that he will regain the division’s crown with a vacant title charge against Ilia Topria at UFC 317 next month.
Currently sitting at number 2 in the official 155-pound ranking, Oliveira is gearing up to take on former featherweight star Topria, and is aiming to grab his second free title with the long Octagon Tenure.
Oliveira, a Sao Paulo star since last November, recently returned Michael Chandler to victory with a unanimous victory in the pair’s rematch at Madison Square Garden.
As for Topuria, the undefeated former featherweight kingpin opened his belt earlier this year.
However, seeing Russia open his crown with lightweight ahead of the welterweight proposal fight against Jack Della Madalena, Topria is now facing Oliveira.
