Daniel Cormier finds the timing of Topria’s coaching changes as “strange.”

With a new video posted to his YouTube channel. Daniel Cormier said he doesn’t know how much the coaching changes will affect Ilia Topuria ahead of UFC 317 (via Mmamania.com).

“Ilia Topria wants to fight Islam, but he needs to pass Charles Oliveira first, especially when he hears that he and his team are moving in separate directions,” Colmier told her YouTube channel. “Because of the schedule, they said it wasn’t bad blood. At this point, I really don’t know how effective it will be for Team Topuria, a month before the opportunity to win the second title.”

Cormier went on to say he is not sure when Topuria will switch things up very dramatically at his camp.

“Many times you see athletes descend and switch teams later in their careers. This guy is still at the heart of his career,” Cormier said. “So there’s something about the idea that we can’t come together and work together on being one of the biggest moments of his entire fighting career, especially knowing he trained him like he was 15 years old.

Jorge Criment, the current former Toplia coach, told the “Submission Radio” that “El Matador” lives in Madrid and has his own gym. Climent said Topuria hopes that all “energy” is on him for future combat camps.
