ANTWERP, Belgium — Norwegian golfer Christopher Leitan won his first DP World Tour title by making a birdie on the second playoff hole and winning the Sudal Open on Sunday at the expense of Ewen Ferguson and Darius Vandreiel.
Leitan, rank 278, heading out early in the final round, shot a 9-under 62 and posted a clubhouse target at 13-under.
Van Doriel ranked 331st and led to Leatan by shooting 67, but 186th Ferguson looked like he won his fourth European tour title with a final one-stroke lead.
However, his par putt went outside to push him into the three-way playoffs on No. 18.
The trio all made pars for the first time, but Raytan rolled from 15 feet to birdie putts for the victory after Ferguson and Van Doriel made pars.
