Robert Whitaker is thinking about his battle with Raineye de Ridder at UFC Abu Dhabi

UFC star Robert Whitaker has expressed his thoughts on assuming Reniel de Ridar at the main event of UFC Abu Dhabi this summer.

As we know, Robert Whitaker is one of the best middleweights of this generation and of other generations. The man known as the “Reaper” defeated the best the UFC had to offer for 185 pounds. It’s been a long time since he was a middleweight champion, but he still managed to win the opposition of the elite.

But after being stopped quite decisively by Khamzat Chimaev, Robert Whittaker has something to prove. He needs to go outside and show why he is still a highly regarded fighter in the middleweight division. Some support him in this match, but Reinier de Ridder isn’t the kind of person you can just dismiss.

In a recent interview, the man himself asked why Robert Whitaker was intrigued by the contest.

“He’s a nasty guy. He’s a school with the same mindset, the same mindset as you walk forward and punch people, right?

“I want to set up a statement in this next fight. Really, you know, I really want to send a message and go my way to the title.
