The former NBA star is open about Minnesota Timber Wolves star Julius Randle’s completely wrong perspective.
After spending five seasons with the New York Knicks, star forward Julius Randle was traded for the Minnesota Timberwolves last summer.
Randle gave him everything in New York, but the organization moved from him as many believed that a triple NBA All-Star was a playoff dropper.
However, in his first season with the Timberwolves, Randle proved his critics wrong as he has contributed to the team’s success in the playoffs.
Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade wears a new hat during the 2025 NBA playoffs. The 3X NBA Champion analyzes games from the podcast’s postseason.
Speaking of which, D-Wade recently shared two cents about his shared perspective around Randle and how he has changed.
“Julius Randle is the person people want to s___. They want to abandon Julius Randle. When they went to Minnesota, they thought they abandoned him,” Wade said via Wenetwork.
“He’s here now, and I love the fact that he has the opportunity to shine. All the empowerment around Julius, and Julius Randle was allowed to become him,” he added.
The 2025 playoffs will be the third time fans have seen Randle in the playoffs, but the 30-year-old appears to be on duty.
For the first time since the 2019-20 NBA season, Randle averaged under 20.0 points per game during the regular season.
But that had to do with head coach Chris Finch taking the time to understand the perfect role for Randle and not being able to play well.
But it was enough to create awareness around the previous seventh overall pick. It didn’t take Randle long to dismiss that story thanks to his incredible run in the 2025 playoffs.
For context, Randle played 13 games with the T-Wolves, averaging 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game for the team.
Certainly there were some hiccups along the way, but overall, Randle is important to the Timberwolves’ success, with the organization requiring a potential West to represent the West in the 2025 NBA Finals.
