Austin Reeves’ agents had ominous words to the Lakers fanbase and organization about recent rumors about his future.
The future of Austin Reeves was a big topic for the Los Angeles Lakers. The young point guard may not be long for Tinseltown.
The Reaves played a major role for the Lakers this season, serving as their third option. However, Reeves appeared to be a poor performance in the playoffs, and many criticised him.
But there’s no denying how well Reaves worked. Now heading into his final season, he has made a big decision about his future.
The Reaves can only make $89.2 million from their next Lakers deal. He can make more by entering the open market. However, this may tempt the Lakers to consider trading leave.

Austin Reeves agent Aaron Riley has put what appears to be a warning to the Lakers for staying with X and considering trading him.
He warned of unexpected consequences in Reaves’ upcoming free agency, saying the Lakers are responsible for trying to replace him with a second string center.
“Next year will be a show. People have no idea what’s really coming. He should keep putting in the rumours of the second string centre trade.”
Riley’s comments come shortly after the Lakers made it clear that they would only consider trading Raves if there are high-level centers available in the market.

The Reaves played brilliantly last season, averaging 20.2 points, 5.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds. Behind LeBron James and Luka Donsic, he was the Lakers’ most powerful offensive player.
It will be a massive blow to them as they are trying to build a team around Luka Donsic in the future.
Doncic and Reaves work very well as backcoat pairings. The Lakers will assess Reaves’ play the following year to see if they want to make an extra payment to keep him.
The front office will need to make some moves to try to clear the cap space to sign the Reaves. But he may prove that it is worth their time.
