The 2024-25 season was Chris Paul’s 20th year in the NBA. It was his first season with the Spurs. Paul started out playing all 82 San Antonio games.

This offseason, the 40-year-old is a player whose several teams are interested in buying it. Sources around the league say the Mavericks and Trail Blazers are on the run. All signs refer to Paul’s farewell with San Antonio. Where will the veteran PG play from 2025-26?

Chris Paul could move this offseason

Prior to the 2024-25 season, Chris Paul signed a one-year, $10.5 million contract with the Spurs. Paul was with the Golden State Warriors from 2023-24. Along with San Antonio last season, Chris Paul played and started in all 82 games. It was the second time he did it in his professional career. The veteran PG averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

Chris Paul is an unlimited free agent this offseason. The chances of staying with Paul’s team have been significantly reduced after San Antonio scored a #2 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Many draft analysts believe the Spurs will bring Dylan Harper #2 together. There is no space in the backcoat for the poles. The Spurs already have Daron Fox, Rookie of the Year and Steffon Castle.

NBA insider Markstein reported that the Mavericks are the “monitoring name” of Dallas Maverick this offseason. All-star PG Kyrie Irving tears the ACL in March and could miss the first half of the season. Dallas can use Paul as his first PG while Irving recovers. Additionally, Sam Amiko reported that the Trail Blazers were interested in Chris Paul. They want Paul to coach their young PG Scoot Henderson. The Trail Blazers and Mavs are not the only teams interested in getting Chris Paul this offseason.
