The upcoming UFC Nashville Fight Cards are even better with the addition of two great welterweight scraps.

In one of these matches, you’ll see former middleweight contender Chris Curtis return to 170 pounds due to a fan-friendly clash with Max Griffin. This fight was first reported by X-user MagicM and confirmed by MMA journalist Marcel Dorff.
Curtis competed as a welterweight several years ago, but competed for the duration of his UFC career at 185 pounds. After consecutive defeats to Brendan Allen and Roma Kopirov, he clearly decided to try his old division again. He will be a great welcome at Griffin. Sacramento native Michael Chiesa was submitted to Michael Chiesa in his final battle, but has held victory like Mike Perry, Carlos Condit and Tim Means, known for his strength and durability.
With the second new welterweight fight under the UFC Nashville bill, fan favorite Australian Jake Matthews takes another step towards the rankings in his fight against knockout artist Chidi Nuconi. Dorff also confirmed the match. Matthews has won over Francis Co Prado and Phillow in their final two fights. His final defeat came against Michael Morales, now one of the top candidates in the weight class. He took the Ecuadorian knockout artist to decide.
Needless to say, it was already a big week for the announcement of the welterweight fight.
UFC Nashville will be headlined by a heavyweight clash as veteran knockout artist Derrick Lewis takes on the horrifying new contender, Tarison Teixeira. The card also features an appetizing clash of featherweight strikers, just as Calvin Cutter faces Steve Garcia. Dorff also reported that Junior Tafa will take on Tuco Tokkos on the card.
The event will be down on Saturday, July 12th.
