One of the UFC featherweights isn’t too excited about Yair Rodriguez’s rumblings, where Yair Rodriguez could potentially win another title shot.

Alexander Volkanovsky became the two-time 145 pound title holder when he defeated Diego Lopez for free money at UFC 314. Rodriguez fought on that card and defeated former two-division Bellator champion Patricio “Pit Bull” Freire. While some people felt that Rodriguez could book a grim match against the ropes at UFC 320 in Guadalajara, others thought “Erpantera” could have a rematch with Volkanovsky.
The UFC hasn’t created an formula for the next UFC featherweight title fight at this point, but one upstart is already scoffing at the idea that Rodriguez is next in line.

Lerown Murphy isn’t excited about Jaa Rodriguez’s title chat
Appearing in “Submission Radio,” Lerone Murphy was asked about Yair Rodriguez, who could receive another crack at the UFC Featherweight Championship (H/T Mmajunkie).
“That’s not to say Yaa isn’t a good fighter, but realistically, he lost about three or four title shots. “He only had one win in three fights. That was against a guy who wasn’t ranked.
“That doesn’t make sense. Personally, I’m in the department, I want a shot, but I think I probably need one more, but I’m not against Mosbar getting a shot. If everyone is trying to get a shot, it’s Movsar (Evloev) or myself. There.”
Rodriguez actually challenged Volkanovsky for Gold in his “great” first run in 2023. This was a one-sided incident in favour of Volkanovsky, who won the TKO finish in the third round. Since that fight, Rodriguez has gone 1-1, but claims he is ready for another opportunity to prove he can become an indisputable UFC champion.
