La Liga Heavyweights Real Madrid is said to be targeting another Arsenal star when new contract talks with the former turn into a negative turn amid strong ties with William Saliba.
Real Madrid still keeps his eye on William Saliba despite signing Dean Huyssen
Some gunner supporters may have been optimistic at one stage that defender Dean Huysen’s Real signature from Bournemouth would spell the end of his interest in Saliba, but this is unfortunately far from true.

The gunner appears to be set to compete with Hanshiflic’s champion for “exciting” players.
Since 2022/2023, France International, a key figure at the heart of Mikel Arteta’s defense, has been in an indomitable partnership with Gabriel Magalges, but will remain the Emirate in 2027.

Arsenal has begun discussions with Saliba about a new deal, avoiding the actual contract. Some outlets claim that an extension has mostly been agreed (soccer transfers), but this seems to be widespread for now.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Saliba is a genuine “dream” signature regardless of Huizen’s dealings and pays attention to developments regarding the 24-year-old’s contract status.
“The target of my dreams has always been William Saliba,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“My info is that Real Madrid realized in the beginning of May that Saliba could not reach this summer as a target, because he is a key player for Arsenal and they are discussing a new contract with William Saliba.
“So Real Madrid’s position against Saliba is clear. They sign Dean Huyssen now, but Saliba remains the target of their dreams. Arsenal closes the contract with the ball in their court, maintains Saliba with the club and extends the contract.
Real Madrid I Miles Lewis Skelly talks about Arsenal contract
Details on Arteta’s news are believed to have a very careful look at breakout star Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The Hale End Academy alumni made a left-back alumni of his own this season, putting in some truly exceptional displays that brought Thomas Touchel’s nods for the English team.
As a result, the 18-year-old Form has his head turned at the Bernabéu, and journalist Jonathan Wilson told Guardian’s “Football Weekly” that the story of Arsenal’s Louis Skelly’s contract extension has become sour.
“They have to sort out the Miles Lewis Skelly contract, which will expire next summer, and I don’t think it’s going well from what I’ve heard,” Wilson said.
“Real Madrid is like sniffing everywhere. Imagine Real Madrid wants a highly rated Premier League fullback for free. Can you almost imagine it?”
It would be a truly dire situation for Arsenal, especially to lose his teenage sense to La Liga. It’s also surprising that they consider a Trent Alexander Arnold-esque deal to introduce one of the UK’s brightest young defenders at no transfer costs.
Tieing up Lewis-Skelly will be even higher on Andrea Berta’s to-do list, especially given the newly announced interest from the part of Xabi Alonso.
