Newcastle hopes to have some signings this summer to go to the next level. Goalkeeper is one area to be dealt with. While James Trafford and Gregor Kobel are strongly linked to travelling to St. James Park, there are new favorites to join the Eddie Howes team.

The final tickets are still available for the Champions League Finals!

In recent weeks, Newcastle has raised interest in Joan Garcia, one of La Liga’s best goalkeepers last season. The 24-year-old has also attracted interest from many other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Aston Villa and Man United.

However, recently, Barcelona has been reported to be a strong favorite to sign Garcia, who plays for city rival Espanyol. But nonetheless, a new twist is in the position of the poles in Newcastle.

According to TBR Football, Quique Iglesias revealed at El Partidazo de Cope that Barcelona will not sign Garcia. Instead, he is thought to be “quickly” at Newcastle.

“He’s not going to play for Barca. Under no circumstances is he’s not going to play for Barca. He’s going to sign a Premier League team as a rule. They say Newcastle…that’s going to be resolved soon.”

Garcia will be the top signature of Newcastle. They are ready to pay the £20 million release clause on his Espanyol deal, and apart from last-minute changes, he is on his way northeast. But there may still be hope for people like Arsenal and Man United in that they have almost guaranteed their Premier League moves.
