Liverpool will also hold talks to sign a “fantastic” £50 million winger after wirtz

When Liverpool approached signing Florian Wiltz, it reportedly began preliminary talks to sign the impressive La Liga Winger, which has a release clause worth £50 million.

Liverpool updates from Florian Wirtz

To say Liverpool means business would be a very understatement. With the Premier League crown, the Reds were not hesitant to flex their royal status in the transfer market. This summer, stealing pole position shocked Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

It’s likely that Bayern will compete for options as Bayern missed a Bundesliga star as Bayern missed a Bundesliga star by jumping into the city and potentially landing a dream-like Kevin de Bruin replacement and signing Bayer Leverkusen’s star.

The news that Wirtz wants only Liverpool is music, especially to Michael Edwards’ ears. Despite being the most successful club in British football history, Liverpool has not always won the battle to sign the top European stars. Jude Bellingham joined Real Madrid and it was never the race where the Reds signed Manchester City’s Ehling Haaland.

The notion that Liverpool cannot attract top names has changed this summer. By signing Wirtz, the people of Anfield welcome the addition of Haaland level rather than the players needed to mold into the star himself. And it could make all the difference in their attempts to protect the Premier League crown next season.

Liverpool is about to finish their shopping early this summer.

Furthermore, even after Wirtz, Liverpool may not take place on the final third of the transfer front. The report also suggests that they are currently aiming for an impressive La Liga winger.

Liverpool is holding preliminary talks to sign Kubo, £50 million

According to a Spanish report, Liverpool is currently in the lead up to preliminary talks for Takefusa Kubo after Wirtz and still managed to sign Real Sociedad Winger. Again, none of the transactions are cheap. Japan International reportedly has a release clause worth 60 million euros (£50 million) despite enduring a difficult season at Sociedad.

Whether Liverpool decides to trigger that release clause is a major issue. After scoring seven goals and creating five more in the final campaign, many were hoping to push and improve these numbers this season. However, the winger achieved seven goals again and created one with four assists, which did not prove to be the case.

Football talent scout Jacek Kulig described Kubo’s 2023/24 campaign as “fantastic” as he scored three goals in four games, but the 23-year-old struggles to rediscover such a clinical form.

If Liverpool replaces Mohamed Salah when his contract ends two years later, they may need a player who is consistently involved with 12 or more goals throughout the season.
