During the 2023/24 season, Ajax lost eight league games, scoring 74 goals and admitting to being astounding 61 times.
A year later, they may have scored four goals throughout the campaign, but the club lost just four times, admitting 32 goals and acknowledged a major improvement.

In 54 matches in charge of the Dutch side, Fariori’s team scored 115 goals (2.1 per game), but accumulated 2.09 points per game.
A focus on dynamic offensive football would certainly beat Ibrox followers who had to endure a clear lack of Clement’s style. Despite his gentle years, the Italian manager has managed an impressive 167 senior games throughout his previous management career.
It will hurt to approach success with Ajax, but it may give him confidence that he can guide the giant who fell to his previous glory.
In that respect, taking on the role of the Rangers manager is well suited for him. Ibrox will need a total cultural reset this summer, and only happens by bringing in people who can provide a new start.
It depends heavily on whether Fariori wants to go straight back and return to the hot seat immediately after Ajax’s departure. If so, the board must do everything it can to convince him that the Ranger is the right choice.
Like other manager appointments, bringing Fariori becomes a big gamble – given his recent experience in top jobs at elite clubs, he certainly isn’t a gamble more than Ancelotti.
