Anyone who takes over the Glasgow Rangers as a new permanent manager has a massive work to do.
A summer rebuild is needed. This means a lot of ins and outs when the transfer window opens next month.
Ianis Hagi, Leon Balogun and Tom Lawrence all left Ibrox following the expiration of their contracts and released some of the wage bills.
Light Blues will need to sell several players to raise some funds. Can Nedim Bajrami go first?
The latest in the future of Nedim Bajrami
According to a report by Albania (by the Glasgow Times), the midfielder has two options for summer exits away from the Rangers.
The Serie A club is keen to secure his service, the other from the Bundesliga. The report states that it is likely that Bajrami will leave the club when the summer transfer period opens.
After paying him £3.4 million last summer, the board is keen to get back most of this fee.
The return of nine goal contributions over 44 matches (5 goals and 4 assists) was simply not enough, and he often won a big spell in the final third without producing anything meaningful.
Anyone who arrives as a new manager will see bajrami as an asset that can afford to sell to fund future signatures.
Ben Davis is another player who has to move on, especially after enjoying a successful season on loan with Birmingham City.
Why the Rangers must sell Ben Davis this summer
Davis spent the entire 2024/25 season on loan in Birmingham, and was a key element on the side that returned to the championship and secured the promotion.
He played 44 times for the club and earned an impressive 70% of his duels, earning a 6.2 clearance per game, whilst helping to hold 20 clean sheets in League One.

Because of these performances, head coach Chris Davis calls the centre-back “exceptional” and it appears they are asking players for a permanent transfer.
But back to Ibrox, it’s safe to say that he didn’t completely adhere to the £4 million price tag after his arrival. That’s certainly true.
Compared to his peers in the 2022/23 Champions League, Davis ranked in the bottom 92% in pass completion percentage (79.6%) and in the bottom 80% in tackles per 90 (1.04).
The following season he lost 12.1 possessions per game in the Premiership, usually being chased by opposition strikers. It was clear that the British would not be a long-term option on the back of the light blues.
Starring on Loan has made sure to enter weekly defenders into the shop window this summer. All the rangers need now is a club that comes and makes a decent offer.
One is certain, especially in the news that the 49ers company has completed the acquisition of the club. Ben Davis should never play for Garth again.
