Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Brazilian winger Marquinhos has left Arsenal to complete a permanent relocation to Cruzeiro.
The 22-year-old looked like an exciting prospect when he first joined the gunner, but it’s now clear that he couldn’t live up to expectations.
The final tickets are still available for the Champions League Finals!
Marquinhos struggled to play under Mikel Arteta and instead was sent on loan several times.
Recently, Markinhos had a loan spell with Cruzeiro, but now, according to a post from X’s Romano, a permanent move appears to be already in progress.
Romano posted: “The Brazilian winger will be joining Cruzeiro until 2028, so it’s between Arsenal and Marquinhos.”
Marquinhos is not surprised by Arsenal fans
Few Arsenal fans will be surprised to see Marquinos leave Emirates Stadium forever this summer.
Sometimes younger players don’t do well, but this is a clear case of someone who looks much better as a teenager without actually developing from there.
Arsenal has a lot of competition for locations of attack, so there really isn’t space for Marquinhos to make a lot of impact as a team player.
Are there more players leaving Arsenal this summer?
We definitely see others leaving AFC too much and make sure Arteta will shake up his team a bit this summer.
Jorginho has not expired and will continue to make free transfers, but a few other team players could be realistic candidates to be sold if they have the right offers.
Players like Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, and Takehiro Tomiyasu don’t play regularly for Arsenal, so it may make sense to be impressed if you’re interested in them.
Albert Sambi Lokonga is certainly something to watch after returning from some loan spells that could not be materialized into a permanent deal.
