The former NBA champion has revealed he has high hopes for Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown next season.
After crashing in the second round with the New York Knicks, Brown has already revealed what Celtics fans can expect from him next season.
Before the 2024-25 postseason, Jaylen Brown had already suffered injuries, but he played through it and did well to keep the Boston Celtics in a series with the New York Knicks.
However, it was announced that Brown would be spending the offseason recovering from injuries after the team crashed, suffering from a bursting meniscus.
The Celtics hope to get the best out of Brown, as Jason Tatum has ruled out at least most of the next season.
Brown, alongside Jason Tatum, led the Celtics to many deep playoff runs.
Tatum has often been emphasized as a team star, but Brown promoted himself and showed his glow on both ends of the floor.
Paul Pierce believes Tatum’s long absence could unleash the best from Brown.
He states: “I got the Eastern Conference Player MVP and Final MVP. When Jaylen Brown is the best, I feel his development is about to jump because his team is in top form.”
Before the Celtics could win the championship, many analysts had expressed their opinion that the duo would need to break up to make their teams successful.
But they proved everyone wrong by winning the championship together.
Although Brown has often been overlooked in his star career, Pierce believes he is an opportunity to show everyone his true talent next year.
“He already feels like number one and deals with being the second fiddle when he doesn’t make the Olympics. I feel he’ll be back with more revenge,” Brown added.
Brown is one of the league’s most solid two-way players.
He can explode on the offensive edge, but defends the best players in the opposition and leads the team from the front.
The Celtics are expected to see a lot of changes in the offseason, and it’s important that they keep them brown as losing him in Boston changes a lot of things in those changes.
He has already stated his desire to return to the team despite all the rumours and spend the offseason in town.
Boston faces cap space issues, but he needs to look away from Brown’s deals as he is the player who led him to become a power to be considered in the East.
Next season could be a one-year transition for the 18-time champions, and having an experienced star in Brown will help them a lot as he can help new additions, but will motivate the younger players to adapt to the team.
