Former two uncontroversial welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson is set to make his first outing later this summer, booking a showdown against UFC Nashville’s Gabriel Bonfim on July 12th.
Thompson, the current 12th welterweight competitor, has been on the sidelines since UFC 307 last October, suffering his third knockout loss against next headliner Joaquin Buckley.
As for Bonfirm, the 17-1 candidate suffered only octagonal loss during Bless’s tenure in the form of a knockout defeat to Nicolas Dalby. And last time, Bonfirm secured his second D’Arce Choke Submission Win with Khaos Williams in February, as he recently did.

The UFC confirmed Stephen Thompson’s return to Gabriel Bonfim on their official social media this evening.
Thompson was Buckley before a knocked-out loss in the surge, dropping the first round of rear choke submission loss to unbeaten Shabkat Rakmonov.
Without a victory since 2022, on the occasion, Simpsonville native Thompson finally won by a corner stop over Kevin Holland in the main event crash at UFC Fight Night Orlando.
For Bonfim, the highly regarded welterweight candidate is Dana White’s Candidate Series – And they won prominent victories such as Williams, Andyloza, Maunil Razes and Trevin Giles above.
The UFC Fight Night Nashville will be held on July 12th. A heavyweight main event will be held between former interim and uncontroversial title challenger Derrick Lewis and Talison Teisheira Set.
