Unlike Conor McGregor, Merab Dvalishvili doesn’t stop him from returning to the octagon with a minor leg injury.
On June 7th, “The Machine” will put the bantamweight title on the line against Sean O’Malley, the very guy who took it since last year. Although the news of their rematch was hardly fanfare, fans quickly realized after the training session, fearing that the sequel scraps would be in danger.
Perhaps he experienced PTSD after McGregor’s infamous withdrawal from 303 UFC games. Fans flipped through the revelation and believed that Dvalishvili would not be able to compete and would reduce to the tilt of one title at UFC 316.
“As you see, there’s no more black and blue. I’m a little fatter, but that’s a good thing,” Dvalishvili said in an interview with MMA Junkie. “I’m walking, it’s a bit of a pinky toe, it’s not a problem. After I posted it, people said, ‘Merab, what are you doing, why are you putting this on the internet?” But my coach said it’s the important thing.
“I was surprised how much he reacted, like everyone was worried that I wouldn’t be able to fight. That’s nothing, man. We had a rematch, you’re going to fight.”
Merab dvalishvili is a pretty favorite in his rematch against “sugar”
The UFC’s return to New Jersey is Dvalishvili’s second time defending the bantamweight title, his first appearance with Umar Nurmagomedov in January. “The Machine” offered another light-out performance, handing Dagestani his first career loss, extending his own unbeaten streak to 12.
Dvalishvili is currently the favourite of the -325, defeating O’Malley and maintaining his 135-pound crown in the Garden State.
