Leeds will need to significantly improve their teams to survive in the Premier League next season, and this is one position that goalkeepers will have to deal with during the upcoming transfer period.
Iranian Meslier has no longer been relied on by Leeds officials, so he has to replace him this summer. There are links to Angus Gunn and Nick Pope, among other things, and now several other names have been added to the mix.
Aaron Ramsdale’s Leeds Eye’s Summer Moves
According to The Daily Mail (via TBR Football), Leeds added Caoimhin Kelleher, Sam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale to their goalkeeper shopping list before the summer transfer window on Sunday. And of the three, the latter is the most impressive signature.
Previously, Ramsdale revealed that he had been tossed a coin at him by Leeds Supporters during a match at Elland Road. The 27-year-old from Yorkshire opened this in a 2022 interview with former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster.
Ramsdale signed Southampton from Arsenal on a deal worth £18 million last summer, but is set to leave St. Mary in 2025. His relegation release clause is currently active, and many clubs are said to be interested in keeping him in the Premier League.
Ramsdale could be a good signing for Leeds, but he may be the least popular with his supporters, but considering this incident as well as his three releases from the Premier League (bournemouth, Sheffield United and Southampton).
