Macy Barber cancelled the match at the last possible moment, not medically cleared to fight at UFC Vegas 107

Seconds before Macy Barber and Erin Blanchfield were due to be headlines for UFC Vegas 107, the broadcasting team announced that the fight was no longer happening.

Shortly after the video package where the flyweight headliner was played, Play by Playman Brendan Fitzgerald informed people at home that Barber was not ready to go for a walk in the Octagon. After a commercial break, we discovered that the fight rested after Barber was “not medically cleared” to compete.

We’ve seen the fight being cancelled at the start of the broadcast, but this may have been the first fight caught just minutes before the fighter was expected to step into the Octagon.

Although little information has been disclosed regarding reported medical issues, Megan Olivi was catching up with Branchfield behind the scenes. “Cold Blood” vents frustration over the situation, calling it “professional,” revealing that he has no interest in rescheduling his fight with Barber.

Erin Blanchefield raised concerns about the possibility of Macy Barber being pulled out earlier in the week.

Interestingly, Branchfield raised concerns about whether Barber would appear on Saturday night, noting that it will often withdraw over the years.

“Yeah, a little worried,” Blanchefield told Damon Martin earlier this week. “Macy is someone who was drawn from the fight quite often. She has that history. … So far, she is still in the fight, so hopefully it is.”

Unfortunately for Branchfield, it wasn’t exactly what it is.

BARBER’s scheduled headliner for Branch Field was her first battle in over a year since addressing a string of major health issues, which led to long hospitalizations, but it’s unclear whether it has anything to do with her removal from UFC Vegas 107.
