According to Sky Sports, Everton is exploring the possibility of signing Liverpool youth Ben Doak this summer.

The 19-year-old Scotland International, who loaned it out in Middlesbrough last season, has turned to several Premier League clubs, including Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace.

Doak enjoyed a promising 2024/25 campaign at the championship, showing off his fierce pace and technical capabilities.

His ability to take on players in one situation impressed Premier League clubs.

His performance in Middlesbrough has been widely praised, with the teenager showing maturity beyond his years.

Doak has emerged as one of the top targets for the Merseyside Club as Everton is about to rebuild his offense under David Moe this summer.

He is a likely player, and that’s why manager Arne Slot is keen to pay attention to him in the preseason.

The Reds have yet to set their minds about the future of their players, but as things stand, he is likely to be given the opportunity to prove himself at the club.

Nevertheless, the competition for Anfield’s location is high and there is too much pressure to run. It would be difficult to get into the Liverpool lineup, especially for young players like Doak. And even if he is kept by the club this summer, his playing time is very limited.

Liverpool’s wide-placed quality, especially Doak’s comfortable right wing, will keep him on the bench for a future that will be forgotten.

It remains to be seen that the Reds will decide on Doak and that the next few weeks will determine the future of talented young people.

Scottish football legend Ally McCoist compared Doak’s fearless style to Jude Bellingham’s.

“I’m not going to compare him to Jude Bellingham, but in the sense that he’s free to play.

“When Bellingham came to the scene as a young man, he seemed fearless and he loved it every minute. Ben Doak appears to be in the same place.”

In addition to Doak, goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is on his way out of the club this summer.
