John Jones hasn’t pounded the table to remove his only career defeat from his record.

Jones has 30 pro MMA fights, of which he has officially won 29 fights. The only defeat occurred on December 5th, 2009. Jones went one-on-one with Matt Hamill. “Bones” dominated the opening frame, and it rained on the strike during top control. Judgment Steve Mazagatti stopped the fight and it appeared Jones won by TKO. Instead, Mazzagatti was disqualified for using 12-6 elbows on Jones, which was illegal at the time.
Mazzagatti is a controversial umpire and while many believed that “Bones” should stop the fight before they throw an elbow, we shouldn’t expect the current UFC heavyweight champion to fight for losses.

John Jones is the only one who has no interest in career losses
In an interview with Vic Blend of “Deep Cut,” John Jones was asked if the loss of disqualification should be removed from his record. “Bones” understands how promoters feel, but he says he’s not worried about it.
“My promoter says I need to remove 0 from my record,” Jones said. “That way I can be truly sold as an undefeated fighter, but my athletes know that the rules are rules. When I was disqualified, the 12-6 elbow was illegal. So I broke the rules and paid the costs with a loss.
Jones is looking forward to it now, but what might come with it is still unseen. The MMA world has been asking Jones and interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinel to be booked for a title unified match. UFC CEO Dana White has long said that there is no doubt that the fight will take place.
At a seminar in Phuket, Jones made it clear that from a combat perspective he cannot legally speak about the following: He also said he was in the same situation, as Tom Aspinall spoke with the UFC.
